Site Customizing

This page works with the catalog combination indexing feature. It lets you specify the wholesaler priority used to generate the catalog combination index for possible catalog groups combinations. This ranking index helps eliminate duplicate search results, and speeds up retrieval of items on the shopper's Web site. All Web catalog content providers are assigned a default rank, with your dealer-customized site-specific catalog at the top. This ranking determines which unique item number is used when global and custom catalogs have the same numbers in common. Suppose item number ABC1234 is found in both S.P. Richards and United Stationers catalogs, and S.P. Richards is ranked higher than United. In this example, the shopper's site would display S.P. Richards categories, product details, and image(s) for that common item. If your custom catalog has ABC1234, and your site name is ranked highest, the site displays the content you entered for that item. Adding new custom catalog items updates this catalog combination index immediately, while other changes are daily updated during non-business hours. For more details, see About Catalog Combination Indexes.

Note: If the Web site uses the S.P. Richards Enhanced Search feature, the ranking does not affect Browse Categories, Search Results, or Product Detail. In this case, the third-party provides this information. However, the wholesaler priority ranking still determines the content that displays in MyFavorites, Contracts, Laundry Lists, Web Specials, and Preferred Items.
