Manage Standard Categories
While some of your custom items display under the same categories as your wholesaler catalog, some of your custom items may be exclusive to your site, and you may need to highlight them under a special category. If your site is set up to use standard content, the standard Browse Catalog pages of your shopping site display the subcategories you set up for your Custom Catalog Items.
Note: You can open a window to display a list of hot key actions that can be performed on this page. Type H to open the Hot Key window. When finished viewing information, click Close.
From the Catalog Detail page, type C or click the Manage Standard Categories link.
The Manage Standard Categories page opens.
Click Add New Category or type A. A new window opens so you can specify a new category name. When finished, press Enter or click Save. The information you specified is added to the category list.
Click
or type E to edit an existing category. A new window opens so you can specify a different category name. Enter the new name over the existing name. When finished, click Save. The information you specified is updated on the page.
Click
to delete an existing category. You can also press the Delete key on your keyboard. At the Are You Sure prompt, click OK.
After you add categories, you can add subcategories. Click a category name for which to add subcategories. When the page opens, click Add New Category and specify the subcategory name. (You can also delete and edit subcategories.)
After you create the subcategory, click the subcategory name to add items.
After you click the name, click Add Products.
Click each check box corresponding to the item to add to this subcategory. When finished, click the Map Selected Products to the Category link.
When finished, click the Back to the Category link.
The page refreshes, displaying the items you added. To delete an item, click
. At the Are You Sure prompt, click OK.
To continue to add items to this category, click the Add Products link.
